Curriculum
All students are required to take a total of 12-credit hours. Students should meet with their academic advisors to ensure they meet eligibility requirements and that the courses are degree applicable.
This study abroad experience is a transfer credit group program. The College of Architecture works with Accent Global, a study abroad provider, to design this program to closely align with Texas A&M coursework. Local faculty at Accent Academic Partners in Florence, The University of Florence School of Architecture and The Paris College of Art faculty in Florence, will teach the following courses:
- Design Studio at The University of Florence School of Architecture | 6 credits
- History of Architecture at The University of Florence School of Architecture | 3 credits
- One Drawing course, taught by Accent/Paris College of Art faculty in Florence | 3 credits
All coursework for this program will be transferred through the Paris College of Art and has been approved by Texas A&M University.

What are the eligibility requirements?
The program is available to science of architecture students.
- 2.5 cumulative GPA at time of application and until program start
- Good standing with Texas A&M University
- Students must attend all pre-departure classes and/or meetings
- Must be accepted to upper-division coursework

The study abroad program in Italy spans a full semester.
Will this delay my degree plan?
No. The program allows you to complete the same coursework offered at the Texas A&M campus. Many of our students actually graduate a semester early by taking advantage of the study abroad program.

What will I do during my study abroad semester?
The program is centered on living in Florence, Italy. You’ll complete courses in design, history of architecture, drawing, as well as visit notable sites throughout the region during your stay.
What if I don’t speak Italian?
Italian language instruction is part of the curriculum, though courses are taught in English.
