Mary Mitchell Bartlett ’86
Biography
Mary Mitchell Bartlett is a respected leader in the central Texas design community leading significant projects and giving back to society and the profession as a practice leader, mentor, volunteer, and nonprofit board member. She graduated with a Bachelor of Environmental Design in 1986 and has registrations as an architect and interior designer in Texas.
Mary specializes in workplace design and large capital improvement projects which include the Texas Department of Transportation Campus, Tobin Center of Performing Arts, Veterans Memorial Plaza, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center Expansion, Lila Cockrell Theater Renovation, Houston Street Redevelopment, and the San Antonio Main Library.
For the past 16 years she has been a partner at Marmon Mok Architecture. Prior to that, she was a Vice-president at 3D/International, and worked with Ford, Powell and Carson, all in San Antonio, Texas.
Mary has been involved with the American Institute of Architects at the local, state, and national levels, serving as a San Antonio Chapter President, Texas Society of Architects Board of Directors, and a Committee Chair on the AIA National Convention.
She is active in her community serving on architectural review boards, strategic planning committees and mentoring high school and college students. She is currently serves on the advisory boards for the University of Texas at San Antonio School of Architecture + Planning, and University of the Incarnate Word Interior Design Advisory Board.
Her work has earned fifteen local and regional AIA awards and twenty-four regional and national industry awards. She has been a featured speaker at many industry conferences across the country and has numerous publications about her projects.
Mary currently lives in San Antonio with her husband, Brad and they have one daughter, Andie.
