Getting into college isn’t always easy. Follow this checklist to stay on track!

1. Do your research

Learn about our majors! The College of Architecture offers six different undergraduate programs and eight minors.

2. Apply to Texas A&M University

Complete your application through ApplyTexas or the Coalition. Don’t worry! There are examples and instructions. Visit Aggie One Stop website to get detailed information about the required documents, when to apply, and other important information. You do not need a portfolio as a freshman applicant.

Important deadlines:

Fall 2023 — College Station

August 1, 2022 – December 1, 2022

Fall 2022 — HECM
August 1, 2021 – March 1, 2022
Additional required documents due by March 4

Spring 2023 — College Station

August 1, 2022 – October 15, 2022

3. Wait

Waiting is the hardest part. That’s why the Office of Admissions lets you check your application and records online through the Application Information System. Keep in mind that it takes at least three weeks to review. Fall and summer admissions are posted by late March, and spring admissions are posted by December.

4. Confirm your acceptance

After you get your acceptance packet in the mail (Whoop! Congrats!), be sure to tell us you’re coming. You can confirm your acceptance by accepting your admission offer online or returning the admission acceptance card you receive in your packet. Check out the admittance checklist to make sure you are completing all the required steps and paperwork.

Don’t forget to send in your:

  • AP credits
  • CLEP credits
  • Dual-enrollment credits
  • Final transcript

5. Sign up for a New Student Conference

New Student Conferences are a must! You will learn everything you need to work out to become an Aggie and sign up for your first semester of classes! Don’t forget to bring your family. We’d love to meet them. New Student & Family Programs are here to support your success as a new student.

At your NSC, you’ll meet your academic advisors and learn more about your major and program. You must attend an NSC to register for your classes.

6. Prepare for your studies

The College of Architecture requires all freshmen, change of major, and transfer students have a desktop or laptop computer. New students are encouraged to purchase a laptop to ensure the mobility, longevity, and compatibility of their programs, software, and 21st century education.

The college’s Office of Information Technology provides minimum recommended specifications for personal computers and laptops with additional guidelines for each department.
