Atlases and Mapping Resources

The HRRC researchers are happy to help communities understand their vulnerabilities to disaster so that they can improve their emergency planning and resilience. We have several resources available. Please contact us with requests for additional data services.

Open Data Portal for the Texas Planning Atlas contains several data layers related to evacuation planning, social vulnerability, and disaster recovery. Evacuation Studies have been completed by HRRC researchers and local officials since 1982! This site contains the most recent studies’ reports and maps.

Disaster Housing Recovery Tools

The HRRC in conjunction with the Texas General Land Office developed a disaster housing recovery toolkit to support community leaders in preparing their community to rebuild housing after a disaster. The tool and additional information are here.

Knowledge to Action Sheets (K2A)

K2A sheets offer short summaries of recent research by the HRRC.
