Landscape architecture<\/a> students whose projects tackle pressing environmental issues in Texas earned awards for their work from the Texas Society of Landscape Architects. They will receive their honors at the 2022 TxASLA conference in San Antonio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two student projects earned awards of excellence: \u201cHealing Houston,\u201d by undergraduates Kaylin Slaughter, Macy McGlamery, Camryn Galvan and Kyra Chandler, and \u201cEvaluation of Galveston Dike Performance in Multiple Storm Scenarios,\u201d by Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Sciences student Zhenhang Cai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three projects earned merit awards: \u201cSpace Ark City: Design for Rapid Sea Level Rise Adaptation,\u201d by undergraduates Walter Segovia and Ashley Hodde; \u201cGeodesign Games for Adaptive Futures,\u201d by undergraduates Walter Segovia, Abimbola Olodore, Alexandra Welsh, Reiss Pleasant, Roger Hill, Katelyn Robeson, and Madeleine Shay, and \u201cPipe Dream: An Adaptive Green Infrastructure Model,\u201d by Master of Landscape Architecture student Tianyi Wang. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students representing three of the Department of Landscape Architecture and urban planning\u2019s degree program were honored by the contest jury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
