Biography

Dr. Michael Lopez is an Assistant Lecturer in the School of Architecture’s Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning (LAUP). He has over 6 years of teaching service to the LAUP Department.

In addition to his role with the LAUP Department, Dr. Lopez has a full-time appointment as an Assistant Professor & Extension Health Specialist with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. With over 12 years of service, his role is to support County Extension Agents for Family and Community Health in their efforts related to active living. He provides technical assistance related to policy, systems, and environmental approaches to target health behavior change through community-based coalitions. He also provides leadership for three online, team-based physical activity programs where he oversees the statewide implementation and evaluation efforts.
