{"id":142,"date":"2021-09-15T08:48:43","date_gmt":"2021-09-15T13:48:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arch.tamu.edu.staging2.juiceboxint.com\/?page_id=142"},"modified":"2024-10-21T09:27:32","modified_gmt":"2024-10-21T14:27:32","slug":"research","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.arch.tamu.edu\/impact\/research\/","title":{"rendered":"Research"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Texas A&amp;M College of Architecture is a hub of critical research in fields that impact the built, natural and virtual environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our scholars seek answers to important questions in studies that are funded from many sources, from the National Science Foundation to the researcher\u2019s respective department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-wide-range-of-research\">A Wide Range of Research<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In recent years, College of Architecture researchers have studied:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>How to reduce climate change by lowering the amount of energy in buildings\u2019 daily use and construction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How volunteer groups use social media to rescue people during natural disasters<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How virtual reality training can aid construction site worker safety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The effects of daylight on healthcare facility workers and the care they provide<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Researchers also engage in projects with colleagues in different fields at Texas A&amp;M or institutions around the world. Such multidisciplinary collaborations provide innovative approaches and solutions to pressing contemporary issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-college-s-research-centers\">The College\u2019s Research Centers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The college\u2019s commitment to research is reflected in its five research centers, each with a multidisciplinary roster of research fellows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arch.tamu.edu\/impact\/centers-institutes-outreach\/crs-center\/\">CRS Center for Leadership and Management in the Design &amp; Construction Industry<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arch.tamu.edu\/impact\/centers-institutes-outreach\/center-for-housing-urban-development\/\">Center for Housing &amp; Urban Development<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arch.tamu.edu\/impact\/centers-institutes-outreach\/hazard-reduction-recovery-center\/\">Hazard Reduction and Recovery Center<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arch.tamu.edu\/impact\/centers-institutes-outreach\/center-for-health-systems-design\/\">Center for Health Systems and Design<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arch.tamu.edu\/impact\/centers-institutes-outreach\/center-for-heritage-conservation\/\">Center for Heritage Conservation<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-college-of-architecture-showcase\"><strong>College of Architecture Showcase<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What we do: Plan, Design, Deliver<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In its 26th\u00a0year, one of the college\u2019s signature events, the \u201cWhat we do: Plan, Design, Deliver,\u201d Showcase, formerly known as the Research Symposium, will demonstrate our scholarly work from the College of Architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the daylong, fast-paced event, faculty and Ph.D. students present a wide array of research that displays the remarkable variety of research topics studied by college scholars.
