Advisors counsel undergraduates and prospective students on offered programs, course selections and academic progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"btn-wrapper \">\n\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"btn \" href=\"https:\/\/tamu.campus.eab.com\/student\/appointments\/new\" target=\"\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSchedule an appointment with your advisor today\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\n\t<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-can-my-advisor-help-me\">How can my advisor help me?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Your advisor\u2019s primary goal is to ensure you earn your bachelor\u2019s degree on time. With an extensive knowledge of the college\u2019s major and minor requirements, advisors gauge your academic progress and help you pave a direct path to graduation. They also provide information on the courses, certificates and programs you are eligible to pursue.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-when-should-i-meet-with-an-advisor\">When should I meet with an advisor?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll first meet with an advisor during your <a href=\"https:\/\/newaggie.tamu.edu\/\">New Student Conference<\/a>. Once enrolled in our programs, you\u2019re always welcome to meet with an advisor to review your degree progress. Beyond general advising, they can help you with specific inquiries, including:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Change of major\/minor requests<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Declaring a minor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Declaring a certificate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add\/Q-drop deadlines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Degree planning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-do-i-schedule-an-appointment\">How do I schedule an appointment?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-schedule-through-navigate\">1. Schedule through Navigate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Advising appointments are virtually scheduled in the <a href=\"https:\/\/tamu.campus.eab.com\/student\/appointments\/new\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Navigate student success portal.<\/a> Log in to the app or website using your university NetID and password. Appointments must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. It\u2019s recommended that you schedule the meeting a few weeks prior to ensure your advisor\u2019s availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-prepare-for-your-meeting\">2. Prepare for your meeting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Although advisors have access to your academic history and files, you are still responsible for coming to your meeting ready to discuss your degree plan. Prepare questions for your advisor and, if necessary, fill out student forms and review your degree evaluation in the <a href=\"https:\/\/howdy.tamu.edu\/uPortal\/normal\/render.uP\">Howdy<\/a> portal. If you\u2019ve never used these resources, your advising meeting is the perfect time to start. As always, our advisors are happy to serve and accommodate you.
