Learn about the construction industry and potential careers while still in high school. Texas A&M’s Construction Academies combine academic instruction with fun social activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through these academies, students learn more about the Department of Construction Science and its programs. Attending an academy is a hands-on way to determine if construction science is the right major and career path. All students who attend Texas A&M University who attended a construction academy will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Department of Construction Science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cost to attend the Construction Academies is paid by the support of our Construction Industry Advisory Council. Because of their support, students are able to attend the academies for free. We ask that if you are selected that you please commit and attend the program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Texas A&M’s Construction Academies are for incoming 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Students who have graduated high school are ineligible to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For four days, students will learn about the construction profession. This year we are offering four Construction Academy Careers Programs across the state, in San Antonio, Dallas\/Irving, McAllen, and Houston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Complete the entire online application by Friday, May 3, 2019 at 12:00pm<\/strong>. Make sure you complete the entire application. You will receive a “Thank you for your application” at the end. Please do not send more than one application. Students who apply after the deadline will be added to the waitlist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Participants are selected to attend Construction Academies based on their entire application, their interest in the built environment, and their intent to continue their education in a field related to construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Students admitted into the Construction Academies will be enrolled in the academy closest to their home. Students will be notified through email by the second week in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thank you for supporting this year’s Construction Academies.
