Student employees and a full-time supervisor with knowledge in woodworking, modern design and best building practices are always present. With approval, faculty and students outside of the college may use the Woodshop at an hourly charge based per project. Use of the laser cutters for College of Architecture students is free for college-related projects.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Location: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ILSQ Room <\/span>W101 &amp; W102<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Cutting Hours:<\/b><span> Monday \u2013 Friday, 8:30 a.m. \u2013 4:30 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-laser-cutting-procedures\">Laser Cutting Procedures<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><span>Choose an approved material for your laser cutting project. You may provide your own material, or purchase from the Woodshop where an invoice will be provided. You can complete your purchase in-person or online through the <a href=\"https:\/\/tamu.estore.flywire.com\/products\/woodshop-invoice-payment-24344?blSandboxId=4367&amp;blAdminUserId=3813\">Texas A&amp;M MarketPlace<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span>Put your files on a USB flash drive and bring it to the appropriate location:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>For paper cuts, go to the Makerspace (Langford A Room 107B). For other materials, go to the Woodshop (Langford B Room 111).<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span>We do not accept files after 4:30 p.m.<\/span> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span>We will evaluate your files to find any errors or changes you might need to make to improve the outcome of your cut.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span>Once your file is approved and paid for, we will run your cut.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span>When your cut is complete, you will be notified by email with the location of your completed order.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><span>If you need help setting up a file, choosing a material, using AutoCAD and the template file, or would like to schedule a class helpdesk session, please email <a href=\"mailto:woodshop@arch.tamu.edu\">woodshop@arch.tamu.edu<\/a> to schedule an appointment.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"laser-cutter-template\">Laser Cutter Template<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"btn-wrapper \">\n\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"btn \" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1eYBRRl-o3vqgSZajLrzBXezHms3ws9dy\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAutoCAD Template\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\n\t<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-safety\">Safety<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span>Woodshop protocol demands that all shop patrons make safety their utmost consideration. Prior to utilizing the shop, each student must:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><span>Read the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arch.tamu.edu\/app\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Woodshop-Safety-Manual.pdf\"><span>safety manual<\/span><\/a><span> in its entirety<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span>Watch all of the safety videos<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span>Pass all safety quizzes <\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arch.tamu.edu\/app\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Wooshop-User-Safety-Agreement-2019-1.pdf\">User Safety Agreement<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-find-safety-materials-on-ecampus\">How to Find Safety Materials on eCampus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Email the Woodshop supervisor with your name and Texas A&amp;M email to request access to the <strong>Architecture Lab <\/strong>shared Google Drive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you receive access, log in to your<a href=\"https:\/\/google.tamu.edu\/Apps\/google_drive.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> TAMU Google Drive<\/a> account and click on the <strong>Architecture Lab<\/strong> under the Shared Drives tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the <strong>Safety Modules folder <\/strong>and then the Architecture<strong> Lab Safety Training folder<\/strong>. You must watch all the videos, read all the manuals, and take all of the safety quizzes. A 90% or above is required to pass each quiz.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-safety-walk-through\">Safety Walk-through<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span>You must complete a safety walk-through prior to using the space. Please make an appointment with the woodshop supervisor to complete this requirement. To complete the safety walkthrough, you must bring the following:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><span>Proof you have completed and passed the required safety quizzes on the shared drive.
