‘ACTIVE LISTENING’ ENHANCES 2020 AS THE YEAR OF PERFECT VISION

Then TAMU President Robert Gates, initiated “VISION 2020”, the strategic plan to grow and develop the influence and impact of Texas A&M University. As we enter the third decade of the 21st century and with it the culmination of VISION 2020, it is time to reflect on the challenges that lie ahead. President Gates contended that Texas A&M University did not exist solely for its own advancement, but rather for that of society, the nation and all humankind.

Accordingly, the 5th and final AGGIE Leadership in Community Development conference is to be held on Friday, February 7, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center, George H.W. Bush Presidential Library, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas. It is free to all.

It is a conference centered on “active listening” where we will hear from nine Texas A&M former students deliberately drawn from across the managerial spectrum, generations, and genders on what remains if we are to achieve perfect vision.

We extend a very warm invitation to all students, staff, faculty and alumni, former students and friends to attend and to bring your colleagues. Faculty please include in your syllabi as the venue can accommodate all your students and this is an opportunity that is unlikely to ever again be repeated.

Sessions

Each session will last one hour with 10 minutes of Q&A at its conclusion. In their 15-minute address to the conference, each alum will share the lessons they have on what the future can hold for Texas A&M University; the built, natural and virtual environment; and the world.
