Here are some general guidelines to make your application process easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-apply-to-texas-a-amp-m-university\">1. Apply to Texas A&amp;M University<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Complete your application through <a href=\"https:\/\/goapplytexas.org\/\">ApplyTexas<\/a> or <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.coalitionforcollegeaccess.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">the Coalition<\/a>. Don\u2019t worry, there are examples and instructions.&nbsp;Visit the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/admissions.tamu.edu\/international\/freshman\" target=\"_blank\">Office of Admissions<\/a> website to get detailed information about required documents, when to apply and other important information for international applicants. You do not need a portfolio as a freshman applicant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-3\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-fall-2023\">Fall 2023<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>August 1, 2022 \u2013 December 1, 2022<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-spring-2023\">Spring 2023<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>April 1, 2022 \u2013 August 1, 2022<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-submit-required-documents\">2. Submit required documents<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You are required to submit the following in addition to your application:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Essay<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Application fee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High school transcript(s)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SAT or ACT scores (currently optional)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of English language proficiency (ELP)*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>*ELP tests should be taken at least eight weeks prior to the application deadline to ensure timely receipt and processing of results. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-apply-for-a-student-visa\">3. Apply for a student visa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The United States Department of State requires all international students to have a student visa. The <a href=\"https:\/\/global.tamu.edu\/isss\/students\/get-status\">International Student Services\u2019 visa page<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/travel.state.gov\/content\/travel\/en\/us-visas\/study\/student-visa.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bureau of Consular Affairs<\/a> provide extensive information about how to apply and interview for a visa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-wait\">4. Wait<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Waiting is the hardest part. That&#8217;s why the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/admissions.tamu.edu\/Home\" target=\"_blank\">Office of Admissions<\/a> lets you check your application and records online through the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/applicant.tamu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Application Information System<\/a>. Keep in mind it takes at least three weeks to review. Fall and summer admissions are posted by late March and spring admissions are posted by December.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your complete admission file will be reviewed holistically based on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Your application and essay<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Class rank<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SAT and\/or ACT scores (Optional and not required to complete your admission file)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extracurricular activities, community service, leadership, employment and summer activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Talents, awards and honors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-5-confirm-your-acceptance-nbsp\">5. Confirm your acceptance&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After you get your acceptance packet in the mail (Whoop, congrats!), be sure to tell us you&#8217;re coming. You can confirm your acceptance by <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/applicant.tamu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">accepting your admission offer online<\/a> or returning the admission acceptance card you receive in your packet. Check out the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/admissions.tamu.edu\/apply\/admitted-students\" target=\"_blank\">Admitted Checklist<\/a> to make sure you are completing all the required steps and paperwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t forget to send in your:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>AP credits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CLEP credits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Final transcript (and college transcripts if applicable)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial aid application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Health insurance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Housing application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Immunization records<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-6-sign-up-for-a-new-student-conference\">6. Sign up for a New Student Conference<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/newaggie.tamu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">New Student Conferences<\/a> are a must! You will learn everything you need to work out to become an Aggie and sign up for your first semester of classes! Don\u2019t forget to bring your family. We&#8217;d love to meet them. New Student &amp; Family Programs are here to support your success as a new student.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At your NSC, you\u2019ll meet your academic advisors and learn more about your major and program. You must attend an NSC to register for your classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-7-prepare-for-your-studies\">7. Prepare for your studies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The College of Architecture requires all freshmen, change of major and transfer students to have a desktop or laptop computer.
